Privacy notice
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This notice explains how MRJ Data ("we", "us") handles personal information when you visit mrjdata.com or contact us through it. We are the data controller for this information.
What we collect
When you use the contact form, we collect:
- your name, email address and, if you give it, your company
- the message you send us
- your IP address and the time you sent the message
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and we don't load fonts or scripts from third parties.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and, if you ask us to, to discuss or provide our services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To protect the form from spam and abuse. We use your IP address to limit how many messages can be sent. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.
We will never sell your information or use it for marketing without your consent.
Cookies
The contact form sets one cookie, mrj_form, which holds a security token to stop automated spam. It is strictly necessary for the form to work, contains no personal information, and is deleted when you close your browser. We don't set any other cookies.
Who can see it
Your message is sent by email to MRJ Data. Our website and email are hosted by our hosting provider in the UK, who processes this data on our behalf. We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows, and no longer than two years after our last contact with you, unless we need to keep them longer for legal or accounting reasons. Your IP address is included in the enquiry email, so it is kept for the same period. Separately, the record of your IP address used for spam protection is stored in a non-reversible form and deleted after 24 hours.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to ask us to transfer it to you or someone else. To use any of these rights, email info@mrjdata.com.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
